Young Hawks see growth in spring

Holly Springs will field a young, inexperienced football team in 2017, but coach Donald Deans likes the progress after spring drills.

Boater Education Class slated for this Saturday

The Mississippi Depart­ment of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks will have its next Boater Education Class on Saturday, June 3.
It will be held at the Mississippi State University Extension Service offices located at 120 South Spring Street, Holly Springs. The class will go from 8 a.m. until.
Anyone born after June 30, 1980, must complete a Boater Education Class in order to operate any boat on public water. Students must register online at
This class is free, but it is also offered online for a $30 fee. If you have any questions, contact the MDWFP North Region office at 662-563-6222.

Championship rodeo set for Saturday at Barton

The Deep South Champion­ship Rodeo will be held Saturday, June 3, at 8 p.m. at the Robert Rainey Jr. Memorial Arena, 928 Quinn Road, in Barton.
The event is produced by J Bar B Rodeo Company.
Ticket prices are $8 adults, $6 children, and ages 3 and under free.
