MA hosting basketball camp

Marshall Academy will host basketball camps for girls and boys in fourth, fifth and sixth grades on May 30, 31 and June 1.
The girls camp will be from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and the boys camp from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The camps will be led by coach Traci Rodgers and held in the Frank Swords Gymnasium on the MA campus.
Players will be instructed on the fundamentals of the game, plus there will be a variety of competitions.
Cost of the camp is $60 payable at the time of registration. This will include a camp T-shirt. For more information, call Coach Rodgers at 662-544-2112.

Championship rodeo slated for June 3 at Rainey Arena

The Deep South Champion­ship Rodeo will be held Saturday, June 3, at 8 p.m. at the Robert Rainey Jr. Memorial Arena, 928 Quinn Road, in Barton.
The event is produced by J Bar B Rodeo Company.
Ticket prices are $8 adults, $6 children, and ages 3 and under free.

Lions making move to 1A next season

H.W. Byers hosted a spring football jamboree Friday, and coach Chris Daniels called it successful with all teams benefiting from good competition.
