Byhalia police officers go to 33 calls

The Byhalia Police Department responded to 33 calls during the past week.
Chief Gary Looney released the following report – miscellaneous, 9; escorts, 3; thefts, 2; disturbances, 3; animals, 1; motor vehicle accidents, 4; assists, 1; fires, 3; medical, 5; and alarm calls, 2.
Byhalia police officers also made three arrests during the past week, according to Chief Looney.

Police make burglary arrest

Holly Springs police officers made a recent felony arrest in a burglary, according to chief Dwight Harris.
Thaddeus Scales, 41, of the 100 block of Randall Drive in Holly Springs, was arrested and charged in a residential burglary that took place January 19 in the 100 block of Shelby Drive, Harris said.
Scales was charged with taking two televisions and some linens, Harris said.
The linens were found in an abandoned house on Melody Drive, the chief said. The televisions were not recovered.
