| In light of recent events and an increase in active shooter incidents across the United States, the Holly Springs Police Department invites community members, government officials, clergy and school officials to a free, one-hour training. |
| Topics will include recognizing the signs of an active shooter; business, school and church preparedness; what to do if caught in an active shooter event; and interaction with law enforcement during an active shooter event. |
| The training will be held Thursday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. at the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Building. |
| “We hope this training will be both informative and reassuring that the Holly Springs Police Department is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community we serve,” said police chief Dwight Harris. |

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department made four arrests in a shooting outside a residence on Moore’s Crossing South, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.
