Whaley ‘ready to serve’

Neil Whaley’s cell phone hasn’t quit ringing much since election night.

The 29-year-old from Potts Camp won the State Senate, District 10, seat in a special election November 28. Unofficial totals, from Marshall and Tate counties, showed Whaley with 3,590 votes and Sharon Gipson with 2,960.

“I’ve been getting a lot of congratulations, and people are starting to let me know what they want to see me do work-wise at the capitol,” Whaley said.

“It’s overwhelming, a little, but I put myself in this position and I’m ready to serve. I’m ready to go to work for the people of Marshall and Tate counties.”
