Byhalia police officers respond to variety of calls

The Byhalia Police Department responded to 34 calls during the past week.
Police Chief Gary Looney released the following report – alarm calls, 4; animals, 1; assists, 1; disturbances, 1; domestic, 1; escorts, 3; fires, 4; harassment, 1; medical, 7; miscellaneous, 7; motor vehicle accidents, 2; thefts, 1; and trespassing, 1.
Byhalia police officers also made two arrests during the past week, according to Chief Looney.

Early deadlines for May 31 paper

The South Reporter office will be closed Monday, May 28, for Memorial Day.
Early deadlines for the May 31 edition of the newspaper are set for Friday, May 25. The deadline that day for classified advertising is 12 noon. The deadline for all other advertising, including legal notices, plus news items being submitted is that day at 5 p.m.
The newspaper will be delivered on the regular schedule that week.
