Ripley pulls away from Byhalia late

Byhalia was oh so close to pulling off a big road win Friday night.

The Indians trailed Ripley by four entering the final period but couldn’t produce down the stretch. They lost the Region 1-4A clash 46-27.

“We shot ourselves in the foot, but mainly it came down to blocking and tackling,” said head coach John Danley. “They were just stronger than we were. And that has to be our emphasis in the off-season – getting in the weight room and getting stronger so we can finish games.

“The effort and the intensity were there. But we’re just not there yet, when the game is on the line in the fourth. We have to be physical and strong and put teams away.”

The Indians dropped to 3-6 overall and 0-4 in the district.
