Potts Camp wins two in a row

It’s no secret that the postseason is near, and the Cardinals are starting to click at the right time. The veteran Cardinals team took a 4-3 record to West Memphis Christian High School in West Memphis, AR.

The Black Knights struck first, taking an 8-0 lead. The Cardinals tied the game at eight a piece in the second half before the halftime intermission.

After the half, West Memphis Christian climbed back on top, going up 14-8. The extra point attempt was no good. But the Cardinals were just getting warmed up, dominating the fourth quarter, scoring 13 unanswered points. The Cardinals would seal the win by a final of 21-14.

“Our offensive line had a hard time trying to block number 56 for them he had more tools than home depot,” Potts Camp head coach Chris Daniels said. “West Memphis Christian is just a tough team. Playing them is like trying to put socks on a rooster.

“The game was so hard hitting that people in the stands lost teeth. We struggled some in the game but in the fourth quarter we were hotter than the sun.”

The Cardinals are home next for senior night, Friday, Oct. 10, as they welcome the Strayhorn Mustangs. The game begins at 7 p.m.
