Potts Camp sweeps Biggersville in round one

Potts Camp, the Region 21A top seed, took care of business Saturday in the first round of the Mississippi High School Activities Association volleyball playoffs.

The Lady Cardinals faced Biggersville, Region 1-1A number four seed, and swept the Lady Lions 3-0 with set scores of 25-9, 25-17 and 25-21.

Outside hitter Alyssa Clifton led the team with 11 kills, two assists, five aces and four digs. Setter Zoe Clark recorded six kills, 19 assists and two digs. Kaylee Howell and Addy Kate Robinson combined for 15 digs. Sharahneshia Jones also had eight kills.

Clark, Clifton, Robinson, and Harlynn Stephens received Region 2-1A All-Division honors. Clifton was also named the Region 2-1A Player of the Year.

The Lady Cardinals looked to improve their 23-3 record when they hosted Smithville in the second round of the playoffs on Tuesday of this week.
