Potts Camp, Byers and Hickory Flat North State Results
Potts Camp High School hosted the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 1A and Class 2A North State track meet Friday, April 28. Cardinals had seven advanced to the state competition.
Junior, Ta Jones, is the North State Champion in the Boys Long Jump with a final distance of 21-03.00. Zy Hamer received a second place ribbon with a final distance of 2009.00.
Jones and Hamer placed in the Boys Triple Jump. Jones placed second with a final of 41-05.25 and Hamer placed third with a final of 41-01.00.
Bianca Woods placed second in the Girls High Jump, 4-08.00.
In the Girls 200-meter dash competition Lady Cardinal Malasha Faulkner came in third place with a final time of 27.57.
Potts Camp senior Ja’Mrie Faulkner placed fourth in the Girls Shot Put contest tossing the shot put 29-09.00 feet.
Faulkner competed in the Girls 100-meter dash and placed 8th with a final time of 13.52, and Raykia Stricklen placed eighth with a final score of 1:12.56 in the Girls 400-meter dash. The Cardinals placed 7th in the 2-A North State Track meet, and the Lady Cardinals placed 10th.
Hickory Flat MHSAA North-State 1-A Results
Hickory Flat High School girls track team placed third in the 1-A MHSAA North State track meet. Hickory Flat boys track team placed eleventh.
Hickory Flat’s Lady Rebel Morgan Green is the North State 1-A Girls Triple Jump Champion and 1-A Long Jump champion. She also placed third in the Girls 400-meter dash. She will compete Saturday, May 6, in the MHSAA State track meet.
LeDextini Tipler and Cam Westmoreland of Hickory Flat received ribbons in the North State track meet. In the Girls High Jump, Tipler took the third place ribbon with a distance of 4-04.00 and will advanced on to the state finals. Westmoreland placed fourth.
In the Girls 1600-meter run, Hickory Flat’s Ava Green took sixth place with a final of 7:26.29.
Rebel Logan King is the MHSAA 1-A North State Boys High Jump champion.
The Boys 4x800-meter
relay team, including Ty Webb, JJ Hall, Duece McCallum, and Bradford Hopper, placed fifth at the North State track meet.
Hopper placed eighth in the Boys 1600-meter run with a final of 5:30.94.
Lady Rebel Mackenzie Gardner received the sixthplace ribbon in the discus throw, and John May placed eighth.
H.W. Byers MHSAA North State 1-A Results
H.W. Byers Lady Lion Keliyse Faulkner, and Lion Mardarian Euell will attend the MHSAA state track meet this weekend. Faulkner placed second in the Girls 100meter dash at the North State state track meet Friday, April 28, with a final of 13.43. Euell placed third in the Boys Triple Jump with a distance of 3808.00. Houston Harris of H.W. Byers placed seventh in the Boys Long Jump, reaching 18.10.25 feet. H.W. Byers Lady Lions placed ninth in the North State track meet, and the boys placed 14th.
