Patriots third in Class AA meet
The Marshall Academy boys wrapped up the 2017-2018 athletic year in fine fashion.
The Patriots placed third in the Class AA State Track Meet last weekend in Jackson. MA had 68 points, trailing second-place Central Holmes with 122 and champion Centreville with 173. Sixteen schools competed.
“This track season was all positive,” coach Sam Pearson said. “They did all I asked. They worked extremely hard, and I’m proud of all of them for the strong finish at state.”
The Marshall Lady Patriots were ninth in the team competition with 21 points. Fifteen schools participated.
MA boys
100 meter dash – Tyler Bolden, second, 11.60; Darian Houston, fifth, 11.88.
