Patriots in state playoffs

The Marshall Academy Patriots, after receiving a first-round bye, will enter the Class AA State Baseball Playoffs this week in the quarter-finals. MA is facing Winona Christian in a best-of-three series which began Tuesday evening at Winona. The series will swing to Holly Springs Thursday for games two and three (if needed). MA varsity players, pictured above, are (front, from left)  Reagan White, Cade Crouch, Wyle McMillen, Braxton Butler, Elijah McCarter and Tanner Taylor; back, same order, Zane Looney, Tyler Bolden, Wesley Bolden, Boyce McKinney, Ethan Hilton, Wil Summerlin, Peyton Taylor, Jacob Gadd and John Chandler Strickland. Not pictured are Ryan Brock, head coach Jon Mungle and assistant coach Ron Bolden. The semi-finals will be played next week, another best-of-three series.
