Patriots finish in Overall final eight

It was a special season for coach Sam Pearson and his Marshall Academy Patriots.

“I’ve been doing this over 30 years, and I’ve never had a more enjoyable season with a group of young people,” he said. “I don’t know when I’ve been more proud of a team.”

MA concluded its campaign last week with a win and a loss in the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools Overall Tournament. They were one of the final eight teams, all classifications.

“The key word for us all  year was respond,” Pearson said. “When things don’t go your way, you respond, and this group responded well throughout the course of the season.”
