Patriots bounce back, defeating Oak Hill 30-23

Marshall Academy had one thing in mind going into Friday’s Oak Hill game. The Patriots bounced back and earned their first win with a score of 30-23.

Eli Gurley finished with 17 Carries for 116 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Carson Orman finished with 14 carries for 153 yards rushing and a touchdown. Orman also was 10/15 for 175 yards passing and a passing touchdown.

Devin Snow finished with 130 yards and a touchdown. Ethan Sanders finished with ten tackles.

“We had a great first half. We were up 22-6,” head coach Ben Durham said. “We got tired and struggled in the second half. Oak Hill battled back to take the lead 23-22. “Then we completed a pass to Devin Snow for a touchdown.”

The heat was rough on both teams Friday night.

“I’m glad we fought through the heat,” Durham said. “But we need to clean up the penalties to be competitive in the district.” After starting the season with two straight on the road, the Patriots finally come home to host rival North Delta.
