North half next for MA girls

The Marshall Academy Lady Patriots wrapped up their unbeaten run through the district with a 13-0 shellacking of Central Holmes last week.
Coach Carlton Gibson’s softball team finished 8-0 in District 1-AA. Next up is the North State Tournament Saturday, Sept. 23, and Monday, Sept. 25, at Tri-County Academy in Clinton.
“It was sweet to go undefeated in district,” he said. “I hope we can carry the momentum into the playoffs.
“I am proud of this group and how hard they have worked. They are really playing well and have come together as a team.”
