Marshall Academy hosts Indianola Academy Friday

The Marshall Academy Patriots, who received a first-round bye as District 1-3A champions, will host Indianola Academy this Friday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. in the second round of the state playoffs. This is the 13th straight post-season appearance for Marshall. The Patriots (5-4) are the number three seed in the playoff field and the Colonels (7-4) are the sixth seed. Indianola defeated 11th-seeded Tunica Academy 35-6 last week in round one. This is the Patriots’ first meeting with the Colonels, a former district rival, since 2012. The Marshall versus Indianola winner will advance to the Friday, Nov. 15, state semi-finals versus the winner of Winona Christian and Centreville Academy. Potts Camp travels to East Webster Friday

The Potts Camp Cardinals are advancing to the state football playoffs for the first time in school history. The school initiated the football program 10 years ago. Potts Camp will travel to East Webster this Friday, Nov. 8, for a 7 p.m. match-up. The Cardinals (5-5) are the third seed from Class 2A, Region 1 and the Wolverines (9-1) are the second seed from Region 2. The Potts Camp versus East Webster winner will face the Pelahatchie versus Leland winner in round two on Friday, Nov. 15.
