Marshall sweeps rival Oak Hill

Marshall Academy basketball teams are off to a successful start in District 1-AA play.

Both the Lady Patriots and Patriots recorded wins over rival Oak Hill Friday night at home.

The MA girls had an 18-point lead over the Lady Raiders early in the fourth quarter and held on to win by five, 55-50.

They never trailed in the game after Jessica Deming’s three-point play (basket, fouled and free throw) at the 5:53 mark of the first quarter.

Julia Nicholson’s bucket made it 16-11 at the end of the first.
