Marshall advances in north

The Marshall Academy softball team outscored its first two opponents 21-0 in the North AA Tournament Saturday at Carrollton.
The wins advanced the Lady Patriots to face Central Holmes in the finals of the winners’ bracket and also secured them a spot in the State Tournament. The final four of North State, set for this past Monday, was postponed due to heavy rainfall.
MA (32-5) is the defending north and state champions.
Hallie Turner threw a no-hitter as the Lady Patriots dominated Greenville Christian 13-0 in the first round Saturday morning. She struck out 13 and walked only one.
