MA sees halftime advantage evaporate

Marshall Academy scored on the last play of the first half, led 7-0 and had all the momentum.

But things changed drastically in the next 24 minutes.

Winona Christian scored four touchdowns in the second half, plus got a safety, and left Patriot Field with a 32-14 win. MA dropped to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the district. The Stars went to 5-1 and 3-0 in District 1-AA.

“We came out and did some good things early,” said coach Barrett Donahoe, whose team missed other scoring opportunities in the first half. “Then they got physical with us, and we couldn’t hold up to it.”
