Sixteen seconds into the game Saturday, things looked good for Marshall Academy. The Patriots scored on the first play.
But things changed a little later in the opening quarter.
“We had a series of unfortunate injuries, and it hurt us,” coach Barrett Donahoe said. “I thought our guys played well at times, but we were just not as physical as we needed to be.”
Trailing 13-0, Brookwood School (Ga.) scored 38 unanswered points and went on to beat MA 45-29 in the Southeastern Commission of Independent Schools Classic in Montgomery, Ala.
