MA girls fall to 5A Gators
The run came too late for the Marshall Academy Lady Patriots Saturday morning.
In the Coaches for A Cure Classic at Lewisburg, the Lady Pats scored just 17 points in the first three quarters versus Lake Cormorant and trailed 37-17. They turned it up a notch in the fourth, outscoring the Lady Gators 19 to 10 before losing 47-36.
MA, a Class AA private school, trailed Lake Cormorant, a Class 5A public school, 10-6 after one quarter and 25-10 at halftime.
Jessica Deming was the Lady Patriots’ leading scorer. She had 11, with eight of those coming in the second half.
The MA girls (1-1) go to Senatobia Thursday to face Magnolia Heights. The MA boys will play their first game of the season versus the Chiefs.
