MA girls drop opener to Marvell

Coach Jeremy Ervin, in his first game at Marshall Aca­demy, saw positives and areas that need work in the Lady Patriots’ season-opening loss.

They fell 63-53 to Marvell Academy Thursday at home.

“Given it was our first live action, I was pretty pleased with the girls’ effort,” he said. “They played extremely hard and executed what we were trying to do on offense. That include a few in-game adjustments, ‘on-the-fly’ type changes, that showed their basketball acumen. I was very encouraged to see that.”
