MA athletes shine at meet
The Marshall Academy track team competed in the Colt Relays Wednesday, April 1, at Lee Academy with some top-two finishes highlighting the accomplishments.
Carlos Young’s speed was on display as he won the top prize in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.07.
Young was also a member of the 400-meter relay team which placed first with a time of 45.47. Joining him in the victorious effort were fellow seniors Jase Akins, Makhi Findley and Savion McGhee.
The same foursome also finished second in the 800-meter relay at Clarksdale with a time of 1:37.28 For the Lady Patriots, Lauren Parks placed second in both the 100-meter dash (12.98) and the 200-meter dash (27.12).
The Marshall track team is coached by Wesley Harris and Chris Bunio.
