MA athletes advance to North State
Several Marshall Academy Patriots and Lady Patriots are moving on to the North Class AA Track Meet this week.
The athletes finished in the top four of various events at last week’s District 1-AA varsity meet, which MA hosted.
Varsity boys
The Patriots placed second overall in the district, trailing first-place Central Holmes Christian School by six points – 109 to 103.
The following MA boys will be advancing to north half at Lee Academy (Clarksdale).
100 meter dash – Tyler Bolden, first, 11.27; Darian Houston, second, 11.68.
200 meter dash – Darian Houston, second, 24.22; Eli Pearson, third, 24.39.
400 meter dash – Eli Pearson, first, 55.66; Anthony Mayfield, second, 58.21.
800 meter run – Zack Edington, fourth, 2:33.72.

The Lady Patriots placed third overall in the district meet. First was Central Holmes with 157 points, second Winona Christian School with 35 and third MA with 34.
