Lions take two of three games

Fred Stafford, head coach of H.W. Byers Lions, saw his team go two for three in last week's games.

The Lions were defeated Tuesday, Dec. 6, by Middleton High School, 7359.

"We had several unforced turnovers in the third quarter, and it got us behind," Stafford said. "The Lions didn't get the outcome they'd hoped for, but they went on to win the next two games."

The first victory was against Coldwater High School, Friday night on their home court, defeating the Cougars 71-49.

"We started slow, but James and Wright got us going," Stafford said.

The Lions also participated in the Biggersville High School BIGG Classic Tournament Saturday, Dec. 10, defeating Ripley High School 52-36.
