Lions sweep Hawks 71-46
County rivals H.W. Byers Lions, and the Holly Springs Hawks met for the second time in a month. The Lions won the first meeting between the two in impressive fashion. The Hawks went into Tuesday’s game looking to get even with the rival Lions.
The first quarter was all Lions racing out to a 25-9 lead to end the first quarter. The Hawks had no answer for guard Michael James who finished the game with 33 points. Jabari Wright also finished with 17 points, as the Lions had yet another impressive victory over the Holly Springs Hawks by a final of 71-46.
Chris Isom Jr. took six points to the board; Vincent Talley added five; ‘Lil’ Chris Isom and Madarian Euell scored 4 points each and Jaylen Glover added two points.
Camron Isom of Holly Springs led the way for the Hawks with 14 points, and Colain Brown followed with 10. Jabez Jones scored 7 points; Jaylin Sims took five points to the board; Deonte Jefferson, Keonte Jefferson, Jayden Williams, and Richaud Kirklin each scored two points; Arian Shelton and Jarrus Thomas each scored one point in foul shots.
