Six turnovers and 12 penalties typically spell defeat.
They did just that for H.W. Byers last Friday night as the Lions lost 69-12 at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School in a Region 1-1A game.
“You won’t beat anybody with that many mistakes,” coach Chris Daniels said.
He said the contest was played on a wet field.
“We didn’t handle the elements well, and they did,” Daniels said. “It was just a tough night for us.”
The Lions dropped to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in the district. TCPS improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the district.
