Lions fall to Falkner in district

H.W. Byers missed a couple of early scoring chances and struggled offensively the rest of the way in a 40-0 loss to Falkner Friday.

“It was a tough night,” coach Chris Daniels said about the District 2-1A game. “Twice in the first quarter, we fumbled inside the 3-yard line, and you can’t turn it over like that when you’re going into the score.”

The Lions continue to be plagued by the injury bug. Two more players, he said, were hurt Friday night, leaving him with 15.

“The kids are playing hard,” he said. “Falkner’s coach said we were the most physical team they’ve played all year.”
