Lady Rebels wrap up busy summer slate

The Hickory Flat Lady Rebels played a busy summer basketball schedule, including games against Northpoint Christian School, Calhoun Academy and Magnolia Heights School on June 18 in the Marshall Academy Summer League.

Head coach Zach Carnell returns nine players from last year's team.

“We are predominantly a young team, majority 10^th graders, two juniors and one senior,” he said. “They have matured and played a lot of games this summer. A couple have really put up some good numbers this summer, but there's still a lot to learn on getting the young stuff out.”

Hickory Flat will be a member of Class 1A-Region 2 in the 2025-2026 season. The district competition includes Ashland, Blue Mountain, H.W. Byers, Potts Camp and West Union.
