Lady Patriots win 11-1 against Oak Hill

The Marshall Academy Lady Patriots took an early lead to defeat Oak Hill Academy Varsity Raiders 11-1 on their home field Monday.

The Patriots scored on a walk by Megan Brewer and Eliza Cavender, and Rebecca Brigance had a single in the first inning.

Cavender was on the rubber for the Patriots. She went five innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out eight.

Marshall Academy ended the game with 13 hits. Molly Anderson, Brigance, Cavender, and Landry Loper each had multiple hits for MA. Brigance and Anderson each managed three hits to lead the Patriots. They didn’t commit a single error in the field. Brewer had the most chances in the field with eight.

Oak Hill Academy Raiders tallied five hits.

Patriots Eliza Cavender shuts out Rossville 14-0

Eliza Cavender did not allow a single run against Rossville Christian Academy, having a complete shutout game 14-0 Tuesday at Rossville Christian Academy.

Marshall Academy Lady Patriots got on board in the first inning when Gracie Rappa singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

The Patriots secured the victory with ten runs in the fourth inning. The batters

contributing to the inning were Rappa, Megan Brewer, Molly Anderson, Charlie Johnson, Cavender, and Landry Loper, all driving in the run in the fourth inning.

The Lady Patriots tallied ten runs in the fourth inning. The singles were led by Brewer, Anderson, Johnson, Cavender, and Loper and a walk by Rappa.

The total hits for the Marshall Academy Lady Patriots were 13 in the game. Cavender, Johnson, Anderson and Kamdyn Taylor each racked up multiple hits. Cavender went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Marshall Academy in hits. The Patriots did not commit a single error in the field. Brewer had the most changes in the field with eight.

Lady Patriots Cavender throws a gem of a game against North Delta 9-0

Marshall Academy Patriot Eliza Cavender threw a gem of a game Thursday, August 18, against North Delta Lady Waves. She allowed zero runs and besting North Delta by a score of 9-0.

The Lady Patriots secured the victory thanks to five runs in the first inning. Molly Anderson, Charlie Johnson and Rebecca Brigance, each had singles and a walk by Landry Loper, and an error on a ball put in play by Megan Brewer.

An error scored one run for Marshall Academy in the first inning.

Kaley Ward, North Delta Lady Waves, hit a single in the sixth inning.

Cavender earned the win for Marshall Academy Lady Patriots. The ace allowed only four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one.
