Lady Hawks end summer on high note

The Holly Springs Lady Hawks concluded a beneficial summer on the basketball court with an in-town drive to Marshall Academy for three games.

They played Hickory Flat, Magnolia Heights School and Marshall Academy, and new head coach Sam Greer Jr., said, “We played hard, and all of our opponents were very well-coached.” Teyuana Reaves led the way in the three summer league wins June 23. She averaged 14 points and seven rebounds on the day. Zianna Schlender and JaNiyah Stigall also had good performances offensively, averaging eight points each.

Coach Greer said Nakia Martin, Na’Kirya Martin and Zayriah Farrow were major contributors, providing great leadership and playing at a high level defensively. He also said he is looking forward to some more of his young Lady Hawks, Khloe Lewis, Camiya Nunnally, Kortnee Boyd and Kayla Randle, contributing in many ways during the 2026-27 season.

“Overall, the summer camps at Ole Miss and Marshall Academy were awesome learning tools and fun times,” he said. “The young ladies learned a lot and had fun learning together.”

Last season was one of the best ever for the Lady Hawks, and many talented players off that roster are back. They advanced to the Class 3A state playoffs in 2025-26 and finished 21-6 overall.
