Lady Hawks cruise by Hernando

Holly Springs basketball teams hit the road Tuesday night, Dec. 16, and split games against a much larger DeSoto County school.

The Class 3A Lady Hawks got 21 points from Teyuana Reaves in a 44-14 rout of the Class 7A Lady Tigers. The lead was 21-3 at halftime. Reaves scored 14 of her points in the first half.

The Holly High girls improved their season record to 12-4.

The Holly Springs boys fell short, 57-51, at Hernando.

Scoring in double figures were Dawan Malone with 12 points and Jeremiah Dowdy with 10. Dowdy led the board work with 15 rebounds.

The Hawks’ record moved to 9-7 on the season.

Holly Springs teams hosted Byhalia this past Friday night. They will play in the Murray Dixon Holiday Shootout on Monday, Dec. 29, at Water Valley. Both teams face J.Z. George back-to-back starting at 1 p.m. The boys play in the Saltillo Shootout Saturday, Jan. 3, at 10 a.m. Versus Shannon.
