Lady Cardinals sweep district foe

The Potts Camp Lady Cardinals stayed perfect in district play last week with a sweep of Coahoma County.

Coach Dee Blakeney’s softball squad routed the Red Panthers 24-1 and 18-2 and upped their district mark to 4-0.

Leading the offense on the afternoon were Lexi Carter, Kylie Gurley and Jordan Bennett.

Others producing hits at the plate included Karleigh Brannen, Regan Waddle, Victoria Gurley, Brenya Muse and Halie Marquand.

Jenelle Davis was the winning pitcher in game one and Cadence Wait the victorious hurler in game two.
