Lady Bearcats head to NAIA tournament

The Rust College women’s basketball program will make its way to the Hawkeye State (Iowa) for this year’s edition of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics national tournament as the Lady Bearcats landed for the second straight season and were given the tenth seed.

The 64-team bracket will begin with the first and second rounds March 15-16.

The Blue and White will take on ranked 7th Dakota Wesleyan University in the opening round on Friday, March 15, at 7:30 p.m. inside the Robert and Ruth Kehl Center on Clarke University, Dubuque, Iowa campus.

Head Coach Eric Jackson Jr.’s Lady Bearcats will look to make it three consecutive years with a firstround victory, and if they can get by the Dakota Wesleyan Lady Tigers, the women from Holly Springs would then take on either ranked 15th College of the Ozarks, or the host #2 Clarke Pride University on Saturday, March 16 at 5:30 p.m. with a chance for its first-ever trip to the NAIA Round of 16. If they are able to advance, the Lady Bearcats will venture to the 2023-24 Championship site in Sioux City. (Rust College Sports)
