Kinkle wins three firstplace medals

Kentravian “Tray” Kinkle is a triple-crown winner.

The Holly Springs High School junior raced his way to three, first-place medals in the recent Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 3A State Track and Field Championships held at Pearl High School May 6. Kinkle placed first in the 100- meter dash (10.69), first in the 200-meter dash (21.65) and first in the 400-meter dash (48.75).

“It is an outstanding accomplishment,” coach Clifford Brown said. “He represented Holly Springs High School well.”

Kinkle is also a standout running back on the football field for the Hawks, and he is getting lots of national recruiting attention from Division 1 colleges. Many of those are Power Five schools, which include several in the Southeastern Conference.

“This is a testament to his skills and hard work, and it also brings a lot of positive attention to our school,” Brown said.

As a sophomore, Kinkle also won two, first-place medals last year in the State Track and Field Championships.
