Jeff Dalton named new basketball coach at Marshall Academy

Ben Durham, athletic director for Marshall Academy in Holly Springs, announced Jeff Dalton as the new boys varsity basketball coach.

“I’ve been doing this for 16 years,” said Dalton. “I’m passionate about it. I’m 100 percent basketball.” Dalton has coached at Tunica Academy and most recently, Carroll Academy in Carrollton.

Dalton said he had four programs that played at state champ levels. He feels the Patriots can add more State championship banners to the gym.

“If the guys want to hang more banners, I don’t see why we can’t,” Dalton said.

Dalton said he has watched the team play, and they look great.

“Coach Harrison Nickle is a great coach,” Dalton said. “If they (the team) are willing to give the effort, I don’t see why we don’t bring home a banner.”
