Indians lose by four on road to Rangers

Byhalia came oh so close to sending shockwaves through a gym packed with Raymond fans Saturday night.

But the Indians, facing a tough road test in a difficult environment, couldn’t survive when they lost big men Corey Hardin and Jamaris Briggs to foul trouble in the second half. A 59-55 loss in the second round of the Class 4A State Tournament ended Byhalia’s season.

“It was a tough road game in a hostile situation, and when my two big men fouled out, that changed the game,” coach James Sales said. “We went from being the same size as them to being small and inexperienced. That changed the game.

“Size definitely played a factor down the stretch, and we couldn’t finish.”

Avion Graham carried the load for the Indians.
