Indians come up few inches short

The Byhalia and Tisho­mingo County defenses dominated on a wet, cold night.

The Indians couldn’t cash in a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter of the Region 1-4A match-up and lost 7-6 Friday to end the season.

“We just couldn’t get anything going offensively,” head coach John Danley said. “The ball was slippery. The rain stopped a lot of stuff.

“It was one of those grind games, and overall our team strength is not where it needs to be. We couldn’t push their guys around like we wanted.”

The Braves, playing at home, went up 7-0 late in the second quarter. Connor Pannell tossed a 6-yard touchdown pass to Alex Cornelison. Coby Tapp kicked the extra point.
