Holly Springs track teams win district again
The Holly Springs High School boys and girls track and field teams are district champions for the fourth straight year.
Both dominated the field Thursday, April 10, on the Tishomingo County High School track in Iuka. The Hawks and Lady Hawks cruised by second-place Independence. Other Region 2-3A members competing in the meet were Rosa Fort, Coahoma County and North Panola.
The top four finishers in each individual event move on to the Super Regional this Thursday, April 17, also at Iuka.
Head coach of the Hawks is Clifford Brown, and head coach of the Lady Hawks is Kayla Reed.
“The boys are down in numbers this year, participation-wise, but they did well,” Coach Brown said. “The girls are really strong. It's a big accomplishment – four district championships in a row.”
