Holly Springs teams second in Super Regional

Several Holly Springs High School athletes advanced to the Class 3A North State Track and Field Meet after strong showings in the Mississippi High School Activities Association Super Regional in Iuka.

Those Hawks and Lady Hawks finishing in the top four in individual events moved on to the next stage of competition.

Kentravian Kinkle headlined the top performances for the Hawks. The senior speedster again placed first in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash.

Boys Results, Super Regional

100-meter dash – first, Kentravian Kinkle, 10.62.

200-meter dash – first, Kentravian Kinkle, 21.52.

400-meter dash – first, Kentravian Kinkle, 52.36

800-meter run – second, Jasiah Johson, 2:13.09.

1600-meter run – fourth, Dreyvin Oswalt, 5:35.28.

110-meter hurdles – second, Taylen Gatewood, 18.89.

300-meter hurdles – second, Christian Hicks, 45.06.

4x400-meter relay – third, Jasiah Johnson, Christian Hicks, Kyson Isom, Joshua Harris, 3:47.05.

4x800-meter relay – first, Martavion Davis, Jasiah Johnson, Bruce Streeter, Jamal Moyo, 9:21.86.

High jump – first, Jaylen Cassidy, 6-02; second, Christopher Hale, 5-08.25.

Triple jump – second, Joshua Harris, 38-05; third, Taylen Gatewood, 38-04.75.

Shot put – fourth, Kentravian Kinkle, 39-00.

The Holly Springs boys finished second overall in the Super Regional with 124 total points. First-place went to Alcorn Central with 146. Third was Kossuth with 104.

100-meter dash – second, Zianna Schlender, 13.06; third, Jaliyah Martin, 13.11.

200-meter dash – first, Na'Kira Martin, 26.00; second, Jaliyah Martin, 27.35.

400-meter dash – fourth, Monique Brown, 1:10.11.

100-meter hurdles – third, Malicia Selman, 19.12.

4x100-meter relay – first, Jaliyah Martin, Destiny Martin, Na'Kira Martin, Zianna Schlender, 52.42.

4x200-meter relay – first, Na'Kira Martin, Destiny Martin, Zianna Schlender, Jaliyah Martin, 1:50.57.

4x400-meter relay – fourth, Shyia Spencer, Aryauna Ingram, Na'kira Martin, Zayriah Farrow, 4:56.88.

4x800-meter relay – third, Ariel Brunson, Monique Brown, Jaidan Hall, Asia Jackson, 13:25.56.

High jump – second, Kayla Phillips, 4-08.

The Holly Springs girls also finished second overall in the Super Regional with 124 points. First-place went to Alcorn Central with 191. Independence was third with 98.
