Holly High, Byhalia split games on court
The initial 2017 version of the Holly Springs versus Byhalia basketball rivalry didn’t disappoint.
A packed house saw the host Hawks hang on in the last minute for a three-point victory over cross-county foe Byhalia November 17.
Holly High was up by 15 with 4:03 left, but the Indians kept battling and lost by just three, 79-76.
“Our team followed the game plan,” said Sylvester Kilgore, head coach of the Hawks. “We wanted to execute our defense and reap the rewards in transition and at the free-throw line.
“The players showed a great commitment to hustle and rebounding, while also showing togetherness in some adverse situations.”
