Hawks off to a solid start in district play
It is no secret the Hawks should have more wins in the winning column than they do losses. But a two-game winning streak has coach Chapman and his squad improving as the season progresses.
Last week, the Hawks defeated the Independence Wildcats and the North Panola Cougars on their home court.
“Our team continues to get better. The more time we spend with one another, the better we will get,” Holly Springs head coach Luke Chapman said. “I’ve said from the beginning, it’s not about how you look at the start of the season, it’s about playing your best basketball in district play and playoff time.”
The Hawks defeated the Wildcats 54-49, and the Cougar’s final score was 58-55.
“I scheduled a few tough 6A and 7A opponents early to test us and it’s already paying off,” said Chapman. “We are now 2-0 in district play with plenty of room to improve as a team.”
