Hawks moving on to state
The Holly Springs Hawks finished fourth in the Region 1-3A Track Meet on Monday, April 24, at Pontotoc.
The Holly High boys totaled 86 points, 10 behind third-place Kossuth with 96. Independence and Charleston tied for first, each with 101 points.
Several Holly Springs High School athletes advanced to the Class 3A North State Meet by placing in the top four of various events at the regional level.
• 100 meter dash - first, Deandre Martin, 11.19.
• 200 meter dash - first, Deandre Martin, 22.83.
• 400 meter dash - first, Miles Stone, 52.41.
• 800 meter run - second, Cedric Hampton, 2:14.53.
• 4x100 meter relay - third, Dentryl Faulkner, Joshua Kimble, Davei Mitchell, Deandre Martin, 44.68.
• 4x200 meter relay - third, Deandre Martin, Davei Mitchell, Dentryl Faulkner, Kadarian Lumpkin, 1:33.72.
• 4x400 meter relay - second, Andrew Martin, Dentryl Faulkner, Kadarian Lumpkin, Miles Stone, 3:42.97.
• 4x800 meter relay - second, Ronnie Aldridge, Cedric Hampton, Malik Jannice, Cadarius Autry, 9:26.53.
• Triple jump - fourth, Jmon Johnson, 37-2.25.
North State results
Several Hawks earned top-four finishes in the North State 3A Track Meet Saturday at Oxford. They will be going on to the State Meet this weekend at Pearl.
