Hawks lose to highly-ranked Cougars

Holly Springs had the challenge of trying to slow down North Panola and its dual-threat quarterback Friday night.

The Cougars, ranked in the top five in the state in Class 3A, scored 28 points in the second quarter and went on to down the Hawks 50-6.

“We went back and forth on a couple of drives in the first quarter,” coach Donald Deans said, “and then they opened up the offense and spread us out. The quarterback is really good.”

K.J. Jefferson, the star of the North Panola squad, has committed to the University of Arkansas.
