The Holly Springs Hawks did not have one of their better days in the Rumble by the River Friday.
The Hawks dropped a 65-43 decision to Holmes Central in the one-day event hosted by Itawamba Agricultural High School on the campus of Itawamba Community College.
“Poor defense, especially rebounding, enabled Holmes to control the game,” coach Sylvester Kilgore said.
“We had miscues on passes – lots of turnovers – and we just couldn’t finish our opportunities.”
