Hawks down JA

Holly Springs got what coach Sylvester Kilgore called “a much-needed win” Friday.

The Hawks rallied from a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter to knock off Jackson Academy 47-42 in the Tangle on the Trail at Pontotoc. It came four days after a disappointing loss to rival Byhalia.

“We circled the wagon and ‘battened down the hatches’ with timely free throws, rebounds and quick scores,” he said.

Holly High played without leading scorer and Dandy Dozen player DaQuan Smith, who suffered a cut above his eye versus the Indians January 2.
