Hawks cruise for second win in a row
Hurricane Francine did not stop the Hawks and Blue Devils from clashing on what was supposed to be homecoming for the Holly Springs faithful. The bi-county rivals have a home-for-home series with Holly Springs winning last year’s game big. Now it was the Hawks turn to host the game; there were not too many bright spots for the Blue Devils in the game.
The Hawks dominated on both sides of the ball, securing a 38-6 victory. Coach Clifford Brown says his leaders are taking over each game.
“I see a lot of growth in my leaders. They are holding each other accountable. Growing into a competitive group. A lot of young players are getting valuable playing time as we work towards being competitive in every aspect of every game we play,” he said.
The Hawks know the schedule gets tougher. Coach Clifford Brown says his team will be prepared.
“One play at a time and one day at a time. Continue to trust and believe in the process of how we prepare. Continue to strengthen our strength and show a steady improvement in our weaknesses,” said Brown.
The Hawks hit the road for a Friday night date with South Pontotoc.
