A gutsy H.W. Byers football team almost pulled off the upset Thursday night at Tupelo Christian.
The game was tied at 14 after three quarters before a short-handed bunch of Lions gave up a couple of scores and fell 27-14.
“We just wore down in the fourth quarter,” coach Chris Daniels said.
Byers only had 16 players dressed out for the District 1-1A contest.
“And another got hurt in the game,” Daniels said.
“These injuries we’ve had this season – I don’t know what to say. It’s been tough.”
