Devils beat Rebels in Benton County clash

The last few years they played together. This season they were opponents.

In the battle of Benton County Friday night, the Ashland Blue Devils scorched the Hickory Flat Rebels 36-0. This is the first season for the two schools to have their own football teams – splitting up the former Benton County Buccaneers.

The host Devils lit up the scoreboard quickly, tallying 20 first-quarter points.

Less than three minutes into the contest, Tavionne Stiggers threw to Ocquavion Agyekum for a 7-yard touchdown. A run-for-two was stopped short of the goal-line by the Rebels.
