Daniels hopes to bring successful year to PC

Potts Camp High School was the first stop of the 2023 High School football media day, where the Cardinals have new leadership with head coach Chris Daniels.

Daniels is the former head football coach for H.W. Byers and he hopes to lead an experienced Cardinals team to success he took the Lions.

Daniels brings a coaching staff to the Cardinals that has recorded the most victories in Marshall County history. Potts Camp lost some firepower from their explosive offense in 2022, but the Cardinals have 19 seniors returning this season, as coach Daniels mentions it is “a luxury.”

The Cardinals have some key players this year to watch: Drew Hogan, Brayden Clifton, Zy’Keldric Hamer, Mattox Work, and Jaquarius Bell.

Daniels said the team is focused and aims to win a state championship.

“You’ve got to love the process as much as the prize,” Daniels said.

Cardinal fans will first see the team in action at the Jamboree on August 18 at Okolona High School following the first home game against Falkner High School at the ‘Hall of Fame game,’ and ‘Lil’ Cardinals Night on August 25.
